Spreading Artistic Inspiration Globally, from the Little Hamlet of Walpole, NH

Located just north of Keene NH, Walpole is known for its picturesque early American village, and its bucolic rolling hills. It’s quintessential small town New England. No wonder noted artists and writers, at least one Hollywood film editor, and arguably one of the most famous documentary film directors in the world call it their home.

Among the artists, world-renowned painter, Richard Schmid and his wife, noted artist Nancy Guzik came to live in Walpole some years ago. 

Richard passed away a few years ago, and now Nancy, along with a dedicated board of Directors have created the foundation in his name. Their mission:

”The Richard Schmid Fine Art Foundation (RSFAF) dedicates itself to preserving the living legacy of American master painter and author Richard Schmid. Our mission is to advance his educational and artistic spirit of excellence, skill, and generosity through his art, vision, and philosophical ideas on creativity­—with inspiration and joy worldwide! The RSFAF is a 501(c)3 private nonprofit organization based in Walpole, New Hampshire.”

The Foundation’s Board felt strongly that the website should present a look and feel consistent with Richard’s design aesthetic which can be found in all of his books. Hence, the use of Times New Roman, and a palette that is largely white, red, and black.
